Every zinc range hood we build is pure 100 percent zinc sheet. Not zinc-coated steel. Not zinc-plated. The metal itself is the finish, which means it develops a natural patina with use and can be refinished by us if you want to reset the surface.
New zinc arrives with a matte or brushed finish. Over months and years of kitchen use, water, oil, and touch will darken the surface into a warm, mottled patina that reads unmistakably like real zinc. Two hand-applied patina finishes accelerate the look at fabrication.

Zinc brushed: a uniform brushed surface, the cleanest starting point for a zinc hood. Zinc matte: a soft, non-reflective matte finish that reads as raw metal.
